Conveyance

Food-Grade and Sanitary Conveyor Systems

Midwest Machine offers a complete line of sanitary conveyor systems. Custom-designed for your application, our conveyors are tailored to your plant’s needs. These specialized systems are suitable for various applications, including boxing, packing, and processing. By utilizing a modular system of ready-made parts where possible, we can create custom conveyors of all shapes and lengths at a reduced cost, saving you money and reducing lead time. Whether you need straight conveyors, incline conveyors, or curved conveyors, we handle it all. Our automation experts can integrate the conveyor system to work seamlessly with your equipment, including start/stop functions and automatic sorting or divert gates. We use high-quality, industry-standard components such as Intralox, Uni, Stober, and Dodge, ensuring parts are interchangeable with your current system, which minimizes spare parts and inventory costs.

Our food-grade conveyor features:

  • 10 gauge or 3/16” material for durability in rough environments.

  • All stainless steel construction and 100% washdown rated.

  • Open cutouts in sideboards for easy, complete washdown.

  • 45-degree lower lip to minimize standing water.

  • Drop-in belt guides, return rollers, and belt lifters for quick assembly, disassembly, and cleaning.

  • Solid welds and angle frame construction to prevent bacteria-harboring crevices.

Spiral Conveyors

As an officially licensed OEM of the Intralox 2700 Series SideDrive conveyor belt, Midwest Machine’s sanitary spiral conveyors are an effective solution for elevating products while saving valuable space. With belt widths ranging from 6.5” to 38.5”, these spiral conveyors can handle a variety of products. The simplified design eliminates the need for a drum or complex drive system, making maintenance much easier.

Installation

The process of installing new machines begins with demolition (when necessary), where outdated or obsolete equipment is carefully dismantled and removed to make space for the new machinery. This phase includes disconnecting utilities, dismantling old structures, and clearing the area for a smooth transition. After demolition, the new machines are installed, with each unit being positioned, anchored, and connected to the required power sources and interfaces. Technicians then carry out precise setup procedures, including calibration and integration with existing systems to ensure compatibility. The startup phase involves thorough testing and fine-tuning, where the machines are run with test materials to verify performance, adjust settings, and address any issues. This systematic approach ensures that the new machines are fully operational, meet safety and efficiency standards, and are seamlessly integrated into the plant’s production line, ultimately improving productivity and reliability.

Platforms

Equipment platforms play a critical role in optimizing industrial operations. They are much more than just physical supports—they are integral to the efficiency and effectiveness of a workspace. By providing a stable and reliable foundation, these platforms enable the proper setup and functioning of heavy machinery, which can be essential for maintaining precision and safety.

Here are some ways in which equipment platforms enhance production and operational rigor:

Load Distribution:  Platforms are designed to evenly distribute the weight of heavy machinery, reducing stress on individual components and extending the lifespan of both the equipment and the platform itself.

Safety and Stability: A well-designed platform minimizes vibrations and movement, which is crucial for maintaining machinery accuracy and preventing potential hazards.

Space Optimization: In multi-tiered storage systems and mezzanine floors, platforms help maximize vertical space, allowing for efficient use of floor area and improved organization of materials.

Catwalks

As the point of interaction between humans and machines, human machine interfaces (HMIs), play a very important role in our automated machines. Our automation technicians are qualified to customize HMIs and rebuild projects for obsolete variants. With a distinct and direct plan, we can build a simple, clean, intuitive design to best optimize user experience.

Mezzanines

A mezzanine offers valuable benefits by optimizing vertical space in a facility, allowing for additional storage or office areas without expanding the building's footprint. This creates extra room for inventory, equipment, or workstations, enhancing organizational efficiency and workflow. Mezzanines also help reduce clutter on the main floor, improving safety and accessibility.
